I don't know why the pictures didn't show up on the last one so here they are.

I DID IT!!!

So the half marathon is over! I did it! 13.1 miles and I ran the whole thing! The spectators, my family, and especially Jane were the best, I couldn't have done it without them (her)! I felt strong and great through the whole race and I am so grateful that Jane pushed me to do this and that I really did do it. I saw a friend from NY who flew in to race, and some friends from the ward came to cheer us on. What a blessing to have so many wonderful and supportive people in my life! That especially goes to my love, Jake. He encouraged me to go running every night and took care of the kids like a champ while I was gone. He even got them all up, dressed, fed and to the race so they could watch me run by. What an amazing partner; I love you! All in all, it was a wonderful opportunity and a greater challenge that I can now say I have overcome.

The day has arrived!

So it's 4:30 AM on a Saturday morning and I am blogging! But the real reason is that I get to run the Rock N' Roll Half Marathon today!!! I have been training with my friend Jane even though it sold out before I could get registered. But thanks to Craig's List and a woman who hurt her knee, I am now able to run the race. This has been such a crazy 9 week journey for me. Before this I have never really been a runner. And now I love it and I can't wait to get out there. There is a huge sense of accomplishment on my part because I could barely run a mile when we started training. I have had so much fun, and I've really grown, and honestly...I am proud of myself! Wish us, (me,) luck and I'll see you at the finish line!!!

Daddy's are funny; expecially ours!

So Jake got the kids ready for bed the other day, and this is what Lydia had on. It's Jake, need I say more?!

Our first Graduation

So on Friday the 12th was the last Preschool Parent Program for the year, which also means that Lydia has now had her first Graduation! The songs were great, the kids were better and the graduation hats were adorable. I can't believe our little girl is getting so old!

Every little boy loves his mom!

So the other day I was getting ready for the day and walked out of the bathroom for a minute to check on Toby and I came back to this. Every little boy loves his mom; but I'm sure he'll grow out of it.

Memorial Weekend

We had the chance to go to Bremerton over the Memorial Weekend and we found a very lovely surprise. The Underwater Naval Museum in Keyport WA. The admission way free and because of that we thought it would be on the disappointing side. But we were totally blown away. In fact, everyone should plan a time to go and see it! The kids learned so much, and so did Jake and I. We had a blast, and afterwards went and spend money in the gift shop so that we would feel like we made our contribution. Here are some of the pictures at the museum and the rest of the trip. Oh, and the funniest thing we saw on our trip was "Central Park" in Keyport....just view the pictures below!!!

Brody's Birthday Round up!

So our nephew Broday turned 4 and had a GREAT birthday party! We went to Grandma and Grandpa's "Ranch" and had a cowboy roundup party. The kids had a great time and so did we. We played fun games, had hay rides, and rode our horses! We are so blessed to have such a fabulous family. Thanks Coleen! (and Brody)

Fire by our house

So last night (the 20th) an office building just down our street a bit caught on fire. It was all over the news and everyone was worried that we were getting all the smoke at our house. We weren't! It was blowing the other way. But Jake took the two older kids down the street to watch because as a child he has seen a fire and it made a huge impact on his life. He wanted the kids to have that experiance. So following this is a little video he took of them while watching the flames. I drove by this afternoon, and they still have most the road blocked off and firemen are still there with their hoses going. I am amazed that it is still smoking a bit. OH, I almost forgot the funniest thing! While they were watching, Lydia laid her head on Jake's shoulder and said, batting her big brown eyes, "Daddy, this is my first fire!" So funny!!!

VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!

So Jake and I had a chance for a little getaway and we went to Vegas! Neither of us had really ever done the Vagas thing before so it was fun and new. We stayed at the Mirage and saw everything else. One of my favorite things was the picture below of all the umbrellas. It was so beautiful and Spring-y and it just made you happy to be around all those colorful umbrellas. One night we went to see the Blue Man Group. It was so fun, and amazing. I recoment it. It was so nice to be together and alone, but we also missed our kids and thought of them while we were gone. We had a great time!

Spring Break

So during Spring Break I took the kids and went with my bother Todd and his family for a little "hike". The kids are all pretty small still so this was more a walk in the woods, but we had a great time! There was a pond that had beavers living in it. We never saw a beaver but the evidence was overwhelming. We also went across this great bridge that the kids loved playing on. Great times, good memories!

So it has been a really long time, but I am determined to really make this work so I am going to play a little catch up. The next few posts are going to be things that we have done this Spring and then hopefully I will be able to stay on top of blogging better! Happy reading!

So I am slowly figuring this out so bare with me if my posts are few and far between at first.

August has been cracking me up the last few days. The first thing that cracked me up is when he came into the living room with his sword above his head and said, "Momma, I am your master!" (Too much Kung Foo Panda!) I laughed and laughed and he couldn't quite figure out why. The other thing that made me laugh was at dinner the other night. He said, "When I drink too much I am naughty." Jake and I lost it becuase, I swear we are not raising a little drunk! Again he had no clue why we were laughing, but joined in the fun anyway.

Whidbey Island Trip

We had a mini vacation and went to Whidbey Island. We had a great time and so did the kids. The funniest part of the whole trip was the hotel room. August thought it was our "new house" because our other one was broken. He was so sad when we checked out. But at least he got over it pretty quickly when we got to our next adventure.

I have Finally Arrived

So I have finally joined the blogging community. Thanks to all of my friends and family for being the example for me and getting me to get down on it and start keeping a record! I hope that someone will enjoy reading what I have to say, and hopfully I have something worth saying.
